Today is 12 years of marriage for us. This
gorgeous bench built by my husband Jonathan was a 2022 present. It is
made from pieces of our old deck and from
reclaimed pallet wood. Last night while I
was asleep he moved it up onto our back porch so we could enjoy the seasons together looking out across the yard.

And I can eat again. So he prepared the best dinner and we sat together and ate together at our kitchen table.

Those of you who have read the personal journal (?) part of chapter 2 know just how important it was for us to make this core memory.
This anniversary is without a doubt our very
best anniversary across 12 years of marriage
(10 sick) and 17 in love. Today is a day we never saw coming. Today is so much more than an anniversary celebration. Today and everyday hereafter is a lifetime achievement award. We have been to the depths. And we are so thankful to be here in this kind of moment together. I love you Jonathan Farris. I love you beyond what loving you ever seemed like it could be. This is different. Sitting on this bench today on our “12th anniversary of legal and 17 years of love” is more than my heart can contain. I need to practice growing my heart. The overwhelm of the past decade makes holding all this good in my heart nearly too much.

But this? This overwhelm?

This kind of overwhelm is welcome at our kitchen table. My heart is yours.

We are definitely made for each other.
